  • What Does EOT Stands for. What is meaning of EOT Crane?
EOT stands for electric overhead travelling crane
  • What are the Indian standards for EOT Crane?
The standards followed are IS:3177 and IS: 807
  • What are the Indian standards followed for electric wire rope hoist?
The standards followed is IS:3938
  • What is SEMI- EOT Crane?
Crane have majorly 3 motions & if any motion out of 3 is manual then crane will be Semi EOT Crane. Based on the required pulling effort, any motion can  be selected as manual, subjected to a man pull 250N continuously & 350N for a short period. In general Traverse motions required less pulling effort, hence may be chosen for manual operation however not recommended
  • What is the cost difference between SEMI-EOT and Full-EOT Crane?
The cost difference in case the manual motion is the traverse motions (CT or LT or Both) is not much compared to the overall cost of the crane. It is highly recommended to use full EOT Crane to avoid hardship to manpower
  • IS3938 mentions that the hoist capacity upto 25t - what if the hoist required is more than 25t?

HOT stands for Hand Operated Travelling crane : i.e. instead of electrical motions the cranes is moved by pulling hand chains to effect the motion
  • What is a Goliath crane?
Goliath crane is an EOT Crane with Legs, and normally the wheels of goliath crane are at the ground level. Goliath Cranes are generally used in open sheds or warehouses, where the provision of building is not feasible or the building strength is not adequate to support an EOT Crane.
  • What is Semi- Goliath Crane?
