  1. The building SPAN is different from crane span. Crane Span is center to center of rails where the cranes will run. Mentioning building center to center will lead to an expensive purchase since building center to center is always much more than crane rail center to center.
  2. Check that the vendor is providing the Crane as per the clearances of your building, i.e the height above the corbel level, the side clearances, the end clearances are suitable and acceptable or not. This causes major issues after the crane installation that the crane does not fit correctly.
  3. Check that the correct Cranes Weights and Wheel Loads has been considered for designing the building. Incase building has been designed for a a particular crane weight and wheel load discuss that with the vendor prior to placement of the order. We have come across many cases where the building was designed for much lower crane weights and wheel loads and with proper discussions, solutions could be provided.
  4. It is possible to save money by reducing the building heights. While designing the building do involve us and get the correct crane dimensions so that the building heights can be saved. We have done projects where the cost of the crane was free compared to the amount of savings in the building itself
  5. Are the specifications of crane clearly made? Specifications are critical. The more you are able to explain and express your requirement the better product you will get. Also in case nothing is mentioned then the crane manufacturer is free to choose anything
